2010 was an amazing year.  I can’t say that enough!  Looking back on everything I did, I realize how incredibly blessed I am to have met the people I met and traveled to the places I went.  I finished my MA (woo hoo!) and got a job (paycheck!).  I added two new country stamps in my passport (Norway and France), and spent much of the year living in London — a city I’ve dreamed of...

Body Talk (1-3) - Robyn (Hands down the best gig I went to this year.) No Mas - Javelin (Favorite discovery!  Saw them open for Yeasayer and they were too much fun to handle.) Catching a Tiger - Lissie Lungs - Florence +...

YES!  Someone just tried to use the “it’s for the children” line on me at work.  Did I break?  Absolutely not.  I wanted to bust out laughing but instead I said “I understand it’s for the children, sir, but our basic production costs are our basic production costs.  If we sold them to everyone at the price you’re asking for we’d go out of business. ...

Draft flashback
Found this in my draft folder.  Life flashback! How is it June 1st already?  I can’t believe it.  Also, the cold weather in London isn’t helping.  The sun is shining and we’ve been teased with some gorgeous days, but it’s felt like March this week.  Anyway, here are some things that made me happy in May: Saw Cat on the Hot Tin Roof and Citizen Kane at the Prince Charles...

Things are getting back to normal, y’all!  I’m very excited about it.  I’ve got furniture in my apartment, a tv with cable that has more than four channels, and I won the battle with my wireless router.  I’ve also been here less than a day and already have pictures up.  I’m accomplishing things!

1 page of ISBN checking down, 7 more to go!  Omg, I want to stab my eyes out right now.  The joys of working at a small publisher.  It’s like my placement this past spring on repeat.  Why is it that no one thinks to keep checking these things as they go along?  I mean, ISBNs are kind of a big deal.  Keep track of them!

Not cool, Mail Room Guy!  You can’t hand me a cake (a whole cake!) and then ask if I’m Deborah.  Ask me first, and when I say I’m not, move along and hand the cake to the person who says they are Deborah.  Now I want some cake and don’t have one.

I don’t pretend to understand anything about how films get nominated for awards, but did the Golden Globes really just nominate Alice In Wonderland for best picture and best actor (comedy/musical)?  I saw a lot of movies this year and IT WAS HORRIBLE.  Like, not even a little bit good.  Johnny Depp should have automatically been DQ-ed for doing that stupid stupid dance at the end.  I had...
